What does it mean to "exchange links"?

When two sites decide to place a hyperlink (a live, clickable connection directly to a website) on each other's sites, it's called a link exchange. Many websites have a page of these hyperlinks, or some of them are displayed right on the home page, or other locations. The purpose of the link exchange is grass-roots advertising: related products or information located on other sites is listed for the browser or customer in a link description, giving them the opportunity to continue their search for products or services.

How do I set up a link exchange with tgWedding?

First, select the geographical area where your business is located. If your business is national choose the national link at the top of the page. Choose a category that best suits your company, and click on that. At the top of the page hit the silver "Add Your Listing " button. It will take you to a form to fill out about your listing. Complete the form by hitting "Submit". tgWedding will receive your request, approve it, and post it to our directory within 24 to 48 hours.

How do I add your link to my website?

Once your link has been placed on tgWedding our company will send you a confirmation email with the URL of the link you requested so you can take a look. In the same email, there will be our text link, prepared in html and ready to be placed on your site. You can copy and paste our text link directly out of that email.

How much is trading links going to cost me?

Absolutely nothing. Zero, zilch, nada, no money. All we ask is that you put up our link in return.

Is this the same as an affiliate program?

No. We will not earn or give commission on items sold because of the link exchange. All it is, is a "suggestion" to your user.

Can I send you my banner?

Afraid not. To keep things fair and clean-looking, we ask that links, even those of our sister sites, be text only. Feel free to take and use our banner if that's the format you use on your site, but we will not automatically send you a banner to place on your site.

Can I be placed in more than one appropriate category on tgWedding?

Yes. If your company service or product qualifies for a listing in multiple areas you may add it.

If I don't have a links page on my site, can I still put a link on yours?

Certainly. tgWedding has a goal to make this listing directory the largest free wedding listing directory available to the public. Therefore, with or without a website we welcome your listing.

Why would my request for a link exchange declined?

We are happy to exchange links with bona-fide sites. However, we are not interested in posting links to sites we consider "spam" such as:

1. Affiliate sites with same or similar content but with different site designs.
2. "Mirror" sites which contain identical content, but have different URLs.
3. Sites that use redirects or any type of "bait-and-switch practice." Using frames to hide a real URL, commonly referred to as "poor man's cloaking," is also considered spam.
4. Sites consisting largely of affiliate links whose sole purpose is to drive traffic to affiliate links or sites that contain these types of links.
5. Sites with inappropriate or unrelated content or sites without original content.

Why would my link be removed?

Our editors may remove your link if:

• You continuously submit link requests for identical sites to the same, multiple, or inappropriate link categories.
• You do not post a link back to us. This is a "reciprocal" link agreement. We will delete your link if we can't find our link on your site.
• You post the link back to us on another site not part of the exchange. This defeats the point of the link exchange.
• Your URL is dead or your e-mail address is invalid.
• The content of your site is inappropriate or unrelated to ours.
